Very Important Vintage Native American Navajo Verdy Jake Turquoise Sterling Silver Concho Belt

This is a museum quality vinage Navajo turquoise and silver concho belt handmade by one of the most famous female artists of all time, Verdy Jake. Verdy is known for her impeccable workmanship with outstanding silver works and stone placements. This belt consists of 15 incredible silver conchos with each consisting of 9 beautiful stones. The stones on this belt seem to be from both the Royston and Cerrillos turquoise mine. The silver works located throughout are absolutely phenomenal including swirling stems, raindrops and ropes. What I really love about this belt is that on the back of each concho are fabulous hand cut thick leather pieces which is rare and amazing to see. The buckle on the belt matches the conchos but is larger measuring around 2-5/8" X 2" and contains 29 beautiful stones with matching silver works. Each of the conchos measure around 1-1/2" X 1-3/8" not including the leather backings. The largest stone measures around 3/4" x 3/8". Signed by Navajo artist, Verdy Jake . Sterling silver, marked. Cir. 1970's+. This belt will fit a waist size between 35-3/4" and 49-3/4". Sturdy 372 grams.
