A magnificent vintage Navajo Native American jewelry Native American jewelry silver bowguard. The 2-1/2" x 1-3/8" rectangular silver shield is vertically set at the center of this 2-1/2" wide black leather bowguard, with a vivid oval green turquoise stone set at the very heart as repousse clouds emerge toward its four corners. Handstamped fan designs radiate out to the north, south, east and west as massive handstampings completely surround the entire face, creating a textured backdrop. Silver bars border the entire shield. The leather is 9" in length and has a long leather tie for adjustability. The center stone measures around 3/8" x 3/16". Sterling silver. Sturdy 40 grams.
