This is a superlative vintage Navajo inlaid flying duck silver buckle. This phenomenal buckle contains a mind blowing very detailed inlaid flying duck through a beautiful mountain scenery. The inlay includes mother of pearl, shell, coral, and turquoise. The attention to detail on this inlaid buckle is just astonishing and so mind blowing. The stones and shells are wonderfully hand carved giving the piece much more character. Bordering the oval shaped buckle are remarkable silver sun stampings. Such precise workmanship. The buckle measures around 3" X 2-3/8" and can fit a belt width of about 1-1/2" or less. Sterling silver, marked. Signed by Navajo artist, Ray Boyd. Cir. 1970's+. Sturdy 44 grams.
