A magnificent Navajo silver bracelet. What a superior Dry Creek turquoise stone we have here! This huge triangular shaped stone is surrounded with fine silver rope as it sets proudly upon its silver station of handcarved designs and beads! Dry Creek turquoise is a rare and highly sought-after variety of turquoise known for its unique color and characteristics. It's known for its pale blue to blue-green color, often with a white or light golden matrix. Unlike many other types of turquoise, it lacks the typical dark veining or matrix patterns, giving it a distinctive appearance. It's mined exclusively from the Dry Creek Mine, located in the central part of Nevada, USA. This mine is one of the few sources of turquoise in the world that produces stones with a pale, solid color and minimal matrix. Dry Creek turquoise is considered one of the rarest varieties of turquoise due to its limited availability and unique characteristics. The mine's production is sporadic, and supplies are limited, making Dry Creek turquoise highly coveted by collectors and jewelry enthusiasts. While some specimens of Dry Creek turquoise may exhibit a light matrix or webbing, it is typically much fainter and less prominent compared to other types of turquoise. The lack of heavy matrix is one of the defining features of Dry Creek turquoise. The center stone measures around 1-1/8" x 3/4". The width of the bracelet measures around 1-1/4". Signed by Navajo artist, J. Nelson. Sterling silver. The inside end to end measures around 5-1/4" with an additional 1" gap. Sturdy 34 grams.
