Native American Santo Domingo Sam Lovato Turquoise Sterling Silver Squash Blossom Necklace

This is a tremendous vintage Santo Domingo turquoise and silver squash blossom necklace being extremely important as it was handmade by the famous artist, Sam Lovato. Sam is one of the earliest Santo Domingo silver smith artists. This is an incredibly rare piece as one side of the necklace contains squashes with turquoise stones and the other side of the necklace consists of solid silver squashes. This necklace contains 6 beautiful large chunky Last Chance turquoise stones with the largest measuring around 7/8" X 3/8". Last Chance turquoise is one of the most famous turquoise mines. Situated around the stones are impressive silver leaves, raindrops and bridge patterns. The detailing is just phenomenal. Resting throughout the rest of the necklace are wonderful round silver beads with silver cones and a traditional silver clasp. Sterling silver. Cir. 1970's+. Signed by Santo Domingo artist Sam Lovato. The length of the necklace measures around 30". Sturdy 193 grams.
