Native American Important Joseph H Quintana Vintage Cochiti Turquoise Sterling Silver Bolo Tie

This is a museum quality vintage Cochiti very rare single stone silver bolo tie handmade by the most famous Cochiti artist, Joe H. Quintana. The Joe H Quintana Memorial Award for Excellence in Traditional Jewelry was established in his honor. This bolo consists of Quintanas earliest hallmark which is just impeccable. This bolo contains a sturdy and thick silver bolo with amazing detailing including ropes, channel wave works and thick bordering silver pieces. Located in the center is a marvelous chunky and large Tortoise turquoise stone. The bezel surrounding the stone is just fascinating and detailed. Resting at the ends of the 47" black leather tie are detailed silver cones with accenting coiled ropes and beads. The bolo measures around 3" X 2-1/4". The center stone measures around 1-1/4" x 1". Signed by Cochiti artist, Joe H. Quintana. Sterling silver. Cir. 1960's+. Sturdy 77 grams.
