This is a tremendous vintage Navajo Native American jewelry Native American jewelry silver bowguard. The rectangular front silver panel measures about 3-5/8" x 2-3/4" and has three large Blue Gem turquoise stones set one atop the other, separated with dual silver beads. They're surrounded with awesome repousse torpedo shapes at the north and south and large hand stamped wings at the east and west sides. Amidst the repousse work are hand stamped mini suns, clouds and arrow designs. At either side of the front panel are triple stacked 1" silver buttons with their own marelous hand stamped sunburst designs. The brown leather bowguard measures about 4" x 9" end to end. The center stone measures around 5/8" x 1/2". Signed by Navajo Native American jewelry Native American jewelry artist, Larry Smith. Sterling silver. Cir. 1970's+. Sturdy 114 grams.
