Johnny Mike Begay Vintage Native American Navajo Sterling Silver Squash Blossom Necklace

This is an astonishing vintage Navajo very important turquoise and silver squash blossom necklace. This piece was handmade by one of the best Navajo silversmith artists in history, Johnny Mike Begay. This necklace is incredible as it consists of 12 squash blossoms that are of beautiful turquoise clusters. The turquoise appears to be from the old Blue Gem turquoise mine which is very rare. Situated throughout the stones are marvelous silver beads and ropes. Resting at the bottom is a phenomenal large turquoise cluster naja pendant that measures around 2-3/8" X 2-3/4". The stones are in teardrop, round and rectangular shapes. Situated throughout the very heavy and long necklace are amazing round silver beads with a traditional silver clasp. The detailing of this necklace is just impeccable. Sterling silver. Cir. 1970's+. Signed by Navajo artist, Johnny Mike Begay . The length of the necklace measures around 33". Sturdy 286 grams.
