This is a ravishing vintage Navajo bracelet! It features 4 Morenci turquoise stones surrounded by hand carved silver rope, silver beads, and silver stems, all on a triple rail silver cuff! Such an interesting piece!
The Morenci Turquoise Mine, situated in southeastern Arizona, holds a storied place in the annals of American turquoise mining. Once a bustling copper mining town, Morenci became renowned for producing some of the finest turquoise in the world as a byproduct of the copper mining operations. Morenci turquoise is celebrated for its brilliant blue hues, often accented by striking pyrite and quartz matrix, lending it a unique and eye-catching appearance. Its rich color and distinctive matrix patterns have made it highly sought after by jewelry designers and collectors alike. While the Morenci mine no longer actively produces turquoise, the stones that emerged from its depths continue to be highly prized for their beauty and historical significance in the world of turquoise.
