One of the most famous Hopi artists in history! This is a museum quality vintage Hopi turquoise and silver necklace handmade by the very famous artist, Jesse Monongya. Jesse is the son of the very famous artist, Preston Monongya. Jesse himself became an impeccable multiple award winner and collaborates with Bo and Shantelle Monongya. This necklace is fascinating as it contains a remarkable plethora of handmade round silver beads with an offset turquoise silver pendant. The pendant contains a phenomenal Bisbee turquoise stone which alone is a very unique feature about the necklace let alone the piece being made by one of the most famous Hopi artists. The entire necklace is just mind blowing! The turquoise stone measures around 1-1/8" X 3/4" and the pendant including the bail measures around 1-5/8" X 3/4". The necklace can be wrapped around once for a more tiered look if desired. Sterling silver. Cir. 1970's+. Signed by Hopi artist, Jesse Monongya. The length of the necklace measures around 37". Sturdy 120 grams.
