Important Vintage Native American Navajo Abe Begay Inlay Sterling Silver Buckle Belt

One of the best Navajo inlayers!! This is a museum quality vintage Navajo large inlaid silver buckle beaded leather belt. This incredible belt contains a large fascinating hand inlaid silver buckle that measures a whopping 4" X 3". The inlay consists of lapis, brown stone, Royston turquoise and Number 8 turquoise. The surrounding silver works include geometric patterns, bird works and bordering sun bursting channel patterns. The rest of the belt is wonderfully beaded with an impeccable rug pattern that consists of light blue, dark blue, orange, red, black, yellow and white beads. The intricacy and detailing of this belt is just fabulous. Signed by Navajo artist, Abe Begay. Sterling silver, marked. Cir. 1970's+. This belt will fit a waist size between 35-1/2" and 43". Sturdy 317 grams.
