Important Vintage Native American Hopi Sterling Silver Bear Bolo Tie

This is an exceptional very important Hopi all silver bolo tie handmade by the incredibly famous artist, Preston Monongye. One of Prestons teachers was his uncle, Gene Pooyouma and Preston won multiple awards. He was one of the main artists to begin doing modern Indian jewelry design. This remarkable bolo contains a superior handmade rounded all silver bolo that measures around 2-1/2" in diameter. Lcoated in the center of the bolo is a fascinating hand carved chiseled silver bear. Resting at the bottom of the 43" thick black leather tie are wonderful long silver cones with accenting beads. Signed by Hopi artist, Preston Monongye. Sterling silver. Cir. 1970's+. Sturdy 47 grams.
