Important Vintage Hopi Native American Turquoise Sterling Silver Concho Belt

This is a remarkable vintage Hopi important silver concho belt. This is one of the finest Hopi conchos we have collected. What I love about this piece are the 14 impeccable hand carved silver buffalos including the buckle. Each buffalo measures around 1-7/8" X 1-1/8" and consists of a beautiful teardrop shaped Royston turquoise stone. The leather belt is top notch as it includes phenomenal sun stampings running all the way down. Located behind each of the conchos are beautiful leather pieces that consist of more beautiful stamp works that border the leather. The artist took incredible pride in this belt as even the links on the back are sterling silver, which is very rare. The stones measure around 1/2" x 1/4". Signed by Hopi artist, Hallie Honanie. Sterling silver. Cir. 1970's+. This belt will fit a waist size between 33-1/2" and 39-1/4". Sturdy 328 grams.
