Important Vintage Ben Begaye Dry Creek Turquoise Sterling Silver Necklace

One of the best Ben Begaye necklaces we have ever collected. This is a fabulous vintage Navajo large single stone silver feather style necklace. This wonderful necklace was handmade by the famous artist, Ben Begaye. Located on this necklace are marvelous silver works that consist of beautiful handmade very detailed silver feathers both running up the necklace and dangling from the bottom pendant. I absolutely love the detailing on this piece. Also situated on the pendant is a phenomenal large oval shaped spiderweb matrix turquoise stone measuring around 1-1/2" X 1". The turquoise appears to possibly be from the incredible Dry Creek turquoise mine. Surrounding the stone are wonderful silver works including ropes, channel works and graduating raindrops. The detailing on this necklace is just superior. The detailing of those leaves is just astonishing. The entire pendant measures around 5-5/8" X 1-1/8" including the bail. This necklace contains a handmade silver link chain with a traditional silver clasp. Sterling silver, marked. Cir. 1990's+. Signed by Navajo artist, Ben Begaye (D) . The length of the necklace measures around 32". Sturdy 85 grams. Dry Creek turquoise is a rare and highly sought-after variety of turquoise that is known for its unique color and characteristics.
