Important Heavy Cross Vintage Native American Navajo Turquoise Sterling Silver Necklace

This is a superlative vintage Navajo large thick and sturdy silver cross necklace handmade by the famous artist, Ben Begaye. This wonderful necklace contains a bottom very large thick and sturdy handmade silver cross that measures around 4-1/2" X 3" including the large silver bail. Located in the center of the cross is a marvelous chunky Royston turquoise stone that is placed in a shadowbox setting. Surrounding the cross are wonderful silver shells, raindrops, wave works and dotted works. The rest of the necklace is comprised of fascinating silver links with a traditional silver clasp. Sterling silver, marked. Cir. 1970's+. Signed by Navajo artist, Ben Begaye . The length of the necklace measures around 33". Sturdy 104 grams.
