Important Extreme Turquoise Work Vintage Santo Doningo/pueblo Necklace

This is a museum quality vintage Santo Domingo/ Pueblo advanced turquoise work necklace. What makes this piece so unique is that each and every turquoise stone was hand cut and appears to be from the breathtaking Number 8 turquoise mine. Look how the artist placed a heishi after every single stone giving the necklace a remarkable segmented snake look. Now this is an advanced technique which is very rare and one of the only ones we have ever seen. The turquoise stones wonderfully graduate in size towards the bottom. The smallest measures around 1/16" in diameter while the largest measures around 3/8" in diameter. Located on each end are fabulous hand wrought silver beads with a superior traditional silver clasp.
