Up for sale is this magnificent vintage Navajo Native American jewelry silver bowguard. Set at the heart of the bowguard’s 3-1/8” x 2-1/4” silver shield is its tremendous large rectangular Sleeping Beauty turquoise stone! Framed and surrounded with handstamped designs, the shield sets across the entire width of the 9” long black leather bowguard that then gently tapers to 1-1/4” wide at the ends and has a leather tie for adjustability. The center stone measures around 7/8" x 5/8". Signed by Navajo Native American jewelry artist, Sam Brown. Sterling silver. Cir. 1980's+. Sturdy 70 grams.
