Huge Vintage Native American Navajo Morenci Turquoise Sterling Silver Necklace

This is a marvelous vintage Navajo large single stone silver pendant necklace. This phenomenal necklace contains a center very large chunky Morenci turquoise stone. Surrounding the stone on the pendant are remarkable silver works that consist of leaves, raindrops, swirling stems, ropes and wave patterns. I absolutely love this very beautiful and detailed silver pendant necklace. The necklace contains a superior handmade silver link chain. The Morenci turquoise mine is located in southeastern Arizona, USA. It was first discovered in 1872 by a soldier named King who was stationed at nearby Fort Bowie. The mine produced a large amount of high-quality turquoise in the 20th century, and it is still in operation today. The turquoise from Morenci is known for its distinctive colors and matrix patterns. The colors range from light blue to dark blue with a variety of matrix patterns, including pyrite, quartz, and iron. The mine also produces some green turquoise, which is highly sought after by collectors. Morenci turquoise is often used in Native American jewelry, particularly by the Navajo and Zuni tribes.
