This is a magnificent vintage Navajo extremely detailed hand carved silver concho belt. This outstanding piece contains 10 phenomenal detailed silver conchos including the matching buckle. This is one of the detailed conchos we have offered for sale this year. Each 3" X 2-1/4" thick silver concho consists of a different detailed scenery. The scenes include a basket of food located in the desert, a Native man sitting under a tree in the desert, a Navajo woman weaving a rug beside her hogan in a desert, a Navajo man riding a wagon with his horse riding through a desert to get some water, a Navajo woman picking corn from a corn field, Navajo woman sitting outside her hogan viewing her beautiful desert background scene, a Navajo man coming from his teepee into his hogan, a Navajo woman cooking over an outside fire, and a Navajo man and woman sitting together outside by a fire in the desert scene by their hogan. This belt just consists of so much character. I just love how each concho including the belt tells a different but detailed story. The belt is thick and heavy. Signed by Navajo artist, Andrea Shirley . Sterling silver, marked. Cir. 1970's+. This belt will fit a waist size between 24-3/4" and 37-1/4". Sturdy 689 grams.
