This is a fabulous vintage Santo Domingo turquoise and spiny osyter shell necklace. This fascinating necklace contains five strands that consist of hand cut disc shaped Kingman turquoise and hand cut disc shaped red spiny oyster shells. The way the artist placed the stones and shells on this necklace is absolutely remarkable, half of the necklace are the beautiful Kingman turquoise stones while the other half is comprised of the wonderful red spiny oyster shells. Towards the bottom of the necklace the stones and shells mix together and give such a stunning look. Situated at the ends of the necklace are hand cut brown shell heishi with accenting silver cones and a large traditional silver clasp. I absolutely love how this necklace can be adjusted in length with the shortest measuring around 16-1/2" while the longest the necklace measures is around 21". Sterling silver, marked.
