Chunky Onyx Vintage Native American Navajo Turquoise Sterling Silver Necklace

This is an astonishing vintage Navajo large chunky onyx silver necklace. This impeccable necklace contains a large bottom handmade rounded thick silver pendant that includes a center intricate hand carved dancing knifewing. The pendant measures around 2-3/8" in diameter. The silver works located on the pendant consist of wonderful teepee patterns, sun stampings and wave works. Located in the center of the knifewing is a striking Royston turquoise stone that measures around 1/2" X 3/8" and contains a surrounding silver rope. Running up the sides of the necklace are some of the most beautiful hand carved black onyx stones that are just so fascinating and remarkable. Each hand carved cubed shaped black onyx stone measures a whopping 1/2" X 3/8", there are a total of 30 mind blowing large onyx stones. The necklace contains accenting round silver beads with a traditional silver clasp. Sterling silver, marked. Cir. 1970's+. Signed by Navajo artist, Mary Cayatineto. The length of the necklace measures around 27". Sturdy 194 grams.
