Best Vintage Native American Navajo Turquoise Eagle Sterling Silver Belt Buckle Old

This is an astonishing Navajo turquoise silver buckle being one of the most impressive and important turquoise silver buckles we have ever collected. This piece is absolutely gargantuan as the stone alone measures a mind blowing 4-1/4" X 2-3/8", WOW! The turquoise stone is beautifully hand carved into a marvelous eagle with the eye being inlaid with mother of pearl and onyx. The turquoise appears to be from the phenomenal old Crow Springs turquoise mine which is an extremely rare Nevada mine. This stone isn't from the new Crow Springs but the old Crow Springs that consists of outstanding spiderweb matrix. Bordering the stone is a marvelous stamped silver bezel. The plate contains large outstanding silver shells. Located on the back of the buckle is a beautiful plethora of teepee and concho sun stampings. This buckle measures around 4-3/4" X 3-1/4". Sterling silver, marked. Signed by Navajo artist, RRG and the word handcrafted. Cir. 1970's+. Sturdy 253 grams.
