Comes with original card from second mesa in Hopi. This is one of his earliest works, very rare. This is a marvelous Hopi all silver pair of earrings handmade by the very famous artist, Victor Coochwytewa. Victor is master silversmith who is absolutely well known in the jewelry world. He did work in the Fred Harvey Company and for many years had worked with John Kennedy. His pieces are now in museums. Victor is a multiple award winner including winning the 1994 Arizona Indian Living Treasure award which is a very rare award as only one artist wins that award per year. This pair of phenomenal earrings is absolutely beautiful and are thick rounded circular shapes. Located in the center of each earring is a wonderful geometric deep silver overlay pattern with incredible chisel pattern. Each earring measures around 3/4" in diameter. Sterling silver. Signed by Hopi artist, Victor Coochwytewa. Cir. 1980's+. The earrings weigh around 7 grams.
