Here we have an astounding vintage Santo Domingo silver necklace. First of all, your eyes are not deceiving you -- the one picture of the center pendants is actually the flip side of the necklace - because the necklace is reversible! The stones of the inlay turquoise, jet, mother of pearl, shell and spiny oyster are arranged in different order on the flip side. Also, the one side is orange spiny oyster, while the other is of the red. The necklace is comprised of nine thick stations - the five in the center are strung side by side to emulate the tail of a beautiful feather. From its sides emerge the large jet discs that lead to the first set of trapezoid shaped stations that allow the expressive curviture of the necklace. Additional discs then lead to the rectangular shaped stations and then graduated discs to the silver cones, pods and hook clasp. The center "feathers" are over 1/4" thick, measuring about 3-1/4" x 7/8". And the side stations are about 1/2" thick while measuring about 2-1/4" x 1-3/8". This artist has created two distict show-stopping looks in one gorgeous necklace - simply stunning! Sterling silver. Cir. 1990's+. Santo Domingo artist R. Crispin. The length of the necklace measures around 36". Sturdy 344 grams. LAYAWAYS- We are happy to work with you and are more flexible than anyone on the net. Simply send us an email for more information.
