Many gemstones are utilized in Native American jewelry today, the most popular being turquoise and coral. Gemstones are unique as they all carry their own special and distinctive characteristics that make them valuable. Turquoise has been mined all over the world but the most collectible comes from the Southwest area of the United States. Nevada turquoise is specifically highly collectible but so is Arizona and New Mexico.
