The Sleeping Beauty turquoise mine, located near Globe, Arizona, is one of the most famous and iconic turquoise mines in the world. Known for its pure, robin's egg blue color and minimal matrix, Sleeping Beauty turquoise is often regarded as the epitome of turquoise perfection. This high-grade stone has been a favorite of jewelers for its consistent quality and striking beauty, making it a staple in Native American and Southwestern jewelry. The mine, initially operated as a copper and gold mine, produced turquoise as a byproduct until its closure in 2012. Despite no longer being active, Sleeping Beauty turquoise remains highly sought after, with its rarity adding to its value and allure. The name of the mine derives from a nearby mountain range resembling a woman lying on her back, evoking the image of the fairytale character Sleeping Beauty. Sterling silver.
