Important Native American Navajo Ben Begaye Zuni #8 Turquoise Rabbit Sterling Silver Necklace

This is a breathtaking Navajo turquoise and silver necklace being one of the finest necklaces we have ever collected. This necklace was handmade by the famous artist, Ben Begaye. What makes this necklace even more special is that Ben worked with Pete Gasper, one of the best turquoise fetish artists in history. Pete hand carved the turquoise fetish and then Ben made all of the silver works on the piece. It is absolutely special and mind blowing that you had two artists from two seperate tribes uniute to make a collaboration piece, which makes this necklace that much more unique. This piece is absolutely truly remarkable as it contains an extremely rare and gigantic hand carved Number 8 turquoise rabbit. The rabbit contains outstanding coral inlay for the eyes and nose. Th magnificent turquoise stone measures a mind blowing 2-1/2" X 1-7/8" X 5/8". Located at the bottom of the turquoise rabbit is a beautfiul dangling pendant that consists of shells, raindrops and flowers. The bail on this piece is absolutely phenomenal and consists of wonderful sun and plant stampings. Check out that heavy and thick handmade silver link chain with an end traditional silver clasp. Sterling silver, marked. Cir. 1970's+. Signed by Navajo artist, Ben Begaye. The length of the necklace measures around 28-1/2". Sturdy 153 grams.
