The #8 turquoise mine, located in Eureka County, Nevada, is one of the most iconic and historically significant turquoise mines in the United States. Renowned for its high-grade turquoise, the mine produces stones with a strikingly vibrant blue color, often accented by a distinctive golden to dark brown spiderweb matrix. Discovered in 1929, the #8 mine was actively mined until the 1970s, yielding some of the finest turquoise ever found. This turquoise is celebrated for its exceptional hardness, making it ideal for use in jewelry and highly prized by collectors and artisans. Although the mine is no longer active, its turquoise remains legendary, and pieces containing #8 turquoise are considered treasures, showcasing the beauty and rarity of one of Nevada's most famous turquoise sources.
