Here we have an amazing vintage Santo Domingo silver necklace. This is a fabulous necklace of mega amounts of thick, graduated discs of vibrant Kingman and Royston turquoise, strung side by side! The Santo Domingo tribe is a Native American tribe located in New Mexico, USA. They have a rich cultural heritage and are well-known for their traditional jewelry-making techniques. One of the most distinctive forms of jewelry associated with the Santo Domingo tribe is heishi. Heishi refers to beads made from various materials, including stone and shell. The beads are typically cylindrical or disk-shaped and are meticulously crafted and strung together to create beautiful necklaces. The largest of these discs measure about 3/8" across. The artist here then uniquely added two sections of beautiful shell discs near the back of the strand - one at each side! Sweet! Sterling silver. The length of the necklace measures around 16".
