Here we have an exceptional vintage Navajo Native American jewelry silver bolo. Be sure to notice the profile of the proud silver eagle set at the very heart of this dynamic 2-1/4” round bolo! Still in its place after just capturing its prey, this eagle’s long wings are straight up in mid-swoop – with a single turquoise round set in between its tips. The eagle is magnificently surrounded with concentric circles of ornate silver rope, beads and arches – with the final crowning circle consisting of ¼” teardrop shape turquoise! And creating dramatic depth and dimension, the artist then uniquely angled the sides of the bolo inward. The bolo has a 45” black braided cord has 2” silver tips with additional 1-1/8” silver feather dangles. Signed by Navajo Native American jewelry artist, Ben Johnson. Sterling silver. The bolo measures around 2-1/4" x 2-1/4". Cir. 1970's+. Sturdy 36 grams.
