An impressive vintage Navajo silver pair of earrings. These silver birds each have an inlay Blue Diamond turquoise section on both sides of the body, as they hang from silver beads! These pierced wire earrings are really sweet! Located in central Nevada, the Blue Diamond turquoise mine hosts some of the hardest turquoise produced. The turquoise from this mine, like diamonds, is both hard and beautiful - hence, the Name! This turquoise features a dark smokey matrix encompassed by a brilliant blue. Birds in Native American cultures are often associated with spiritual significance, representing various qualities such as freedom, protection, guidance, and communication with the spirit world. Sterling silver. Each earring measures 1-1/8" long and 1" wide. The earrings weigh around 6 grams.
