Unique Vintage Native American Navajo Cerillos Turquoise Sterling Silver Ant Ring

This is a one of kind vintage Navajo ring! It features a handmade silver ant with Cerillos turquoise stones and an adjustable silver band!
The Cerillos turquoise mine, located in New Mexico, is one of the oldest known sources of turquoise in North America. Mined by Indigenous peoples for centuries, it was an important source of turquoise for trade and ceremonial use. The turquoise from this area varies widely in color, ranging from light blue to deep green, often with a matrix of brown or black. Unlike many other turquoise mines, Cerillos is unique because it produced both hard, high-grade turquoise and lower-quality material used for decorative purposes. Though large-scale mining has ceased, pieces from this historic mine are still found in vintage jewelry and collections, preserving its legacy as a significant source of American turquoise. The largest stone measures around 5/8" x 3/8". The ring face measures around 1-3/8" x 1/2". The ring size is around 6. Sterling silver. Sturdy 5 grams. Cir Mid Century +.
