Important Bernard Dawahoya Vintage Native American Hopi Sterling Silver Belt Buckle

One of the most famous Hopi artists in history! This is an exceptional vintage Hopi all silver carved buckle handmade by the very famous artist, Bernard Dawahoya. Bernard is such a wonderful artist who is known for his overlay patterns. He won the Arizona Indian Living Treasure award which is one of the most impressive awards to win. He is a multiple award winner. This remarkable buckle consists of a superior intricate carving pattern that consists of pueblo patterns, kachina face and sun works. Located throughout the carvings are beautiful chisel works. The buckle measures around 2-7/8" X 2" and can fit a belt width of about 1-3/8" or less. Sterling silver. Signed by Hopi artist, Bernard Dawahoya. Cir. 1970's+. Sturdy 52 grams.
