Daryl Becenti Ceremonial Vintage Native American Navajo Turquoise Sterling Silver Concho Belt

This is a breathtaking vintage Navajo turquoise and silver concho belt that is very important. What makes this piece so important is that it was handmade by one of the best Navajo silversmith artists in history, Darryl Becenti. Daryl did not make too many concho belts, so the ones he did do are extremely rare and highly collectible. This belt contains 10 beautiful hand carved thick silver conchos that each contains a marvelous center high grade Old Kingman turquoise stone. What is even more special is that it got second place at the Gallup Inter-Tribal Indian Ceremonial in Gallup, New Mexico which is the most important ceremonial near the Navajo reservation. The conchos and buckle consist of beautiful silver works that consist of hand repoussed shells, channel works, sun stampings and plant works. The conchos each measure around 2-3/8" X 2" and the buckle measures around 2-1/2" X 2-1/8". The average beautiful turquoise stone measures around 1/2" X 1/4". I love that the links on the back of the conchos are sterling silver also, which is rare as the back links of conchos are usually copper. Resting on the backside of each concho are marvelous thick hand cut leather pads. The total length of the belt measures around 51-1/2" long. Signed by Navajo artist, Daryl Becenti.
