Smithsonian Native American Navajo Artist Vintage Sterling Silver Ketoh Bracelet

Now is your chance to own a piece made by a Navajo smithsonian artist. This is a magnificent vintage Navajo very large handmade silver bowguard. This remarkable piece contains a center hand carved large concho pattern silver plate that measures a whopping 4" X 3-1/8". Accenting the sides of the center silver plate are 8 impeccable large handmade silver shells that each measure around 5/8" in diameter. I absolutely love how the artist included leather pieces to attach to the back of each silver piece making the bowguard sturdy. The silver works on the center concho silver plate consists of slanted line segments, sun stampings, sun bursting patterns, and multiple repoussed shells. This bowguard is just so amazing and large and can fit a wrist size of about 8" give or take on how tight to tight the leather strap. The width of the bracelet measures around 4-3/4". Handmade by Navajo artist, Charles Johnson (smithsonian artist). Sterling silver. Cir. 1970's+. Sturdy 159 grams.
