This is an astonishing vintage Zuni large chunky turquoise wide cuff silver bracelet. This museum quality bracelet contains a beuatiful plethora of large chunky Morenci turquoise stones. Situated throughout the entire bracelet are superior handmade silver raindrops. Bordering the very thick silver cuff are amazing deep silver wave patterns. Located at the ends of the wide silver cuff are amazing hand stamped sun bursting silver patterns. The Morenci turquoise mine is located in southeastern Arizona, USA. It was first discovered in 1872 by a soldier named King who was stationed at nearby Fort Bowie. The mine produced a large amount of high-quality turquoise in the 20th century, and it is still in operation today. The turquoise from Morenci is known for its distinctive colors and matrix patterns. The colors range from light blue to dark blue with a variety of matrix patterns, including pyrite, quartz, and iron. The mine also produces some green turquoise, which is highly sought after by collectors. Morenci turquoise is often used in Native American jewelry, particularly by the Navajo and Zuni tribes. The largest stone measures around 3/4" x 3/8". The width of the bracelet measures around 1-7/8". Signed by Zuni artist, Wayne Cheama. Sterling silver. Cir. 1960's+. The inside end to end measures around 5-1/2" with an additional 1-1/2" gap. Sturdy 101 grams.
