Fantastic Vintage Native American Navajo Petrified Wood Sterling Silver Bracelet

This is an astounding vintage Navajo silver bracelet. The four handstamped rails of this bracelet split wide at the center to host the large, incredible oval Petrified Wood stone! It's surrounded with silver rope and flanked on either side with the silver applique fan. Quite unique! Petrified wood is created when the organic materials in wood are replaced with minerals over a long period, turning the wood into stone. The resulting material can display a variety of colors and patterns, depending on the minerals present during the fossilization process. Common colors include shades of red, brown, and gray. In Native American cultures, the use of natural materials in jewelry often carries symbolic significance. Petrified wood may be seen as a connection to the earth and the passage of time. The center stone measures around 1-3/8" x 7/8". The width of the bracelet measures around 1-1/2". Sterling silver. The inside end to end measures around 5-3/8" with an additional 7/8" gap.
