This is a tremendous vintage Navajo silver bracelet. Here we have a large Sleeping Beauty turquoise nugget that has been surrounded with silver rope and a border of beautiful silver applique leaves and beads as it steals the show as the face of this split dual rail bracelet! Sleeping Beauty turquoise is a unique, beautiful light to medium blue color. It is highly prized and has a special place in the world of turquoise. This turquoise is collected from the Sleeping Beauty mine, which is near the town of Globe in Arizona. To get this famous stone, the Globe area is often visited by people dealing in turquoise and the public. Like other mines it will run out in time, and the value of this turquoise will continue to go up. As with other types of turquoise, being unique often brings added fame. Even among the most highly cherished types of turquoise however, Sleeping Beauty turquoise holds a special place. The center stone measures around 7/8" x 3/4". The width of the bracelet measures around 1-1/8". Signed by Navajo artist, L. Begay. Sterling silver, marked. The inside end to end measures around 4-7/8" with an additional 1-1/2" gap.
