About Gary Reeves

Gary Reeves was born in 1962 in Gallup, New Mexico, and started working with silver remarkably early, in 1974, at just 12 years old — a testament to how deeply embedded silversmithing was in daily life for children growing up in jewelry-making families. Gary is the brother of David Reeves and half-brother to Sunshine Reeves, placing him at the core of the extended Cadman-Reeves family that has produced so many recognized Navajo silversmiths.

Over the course of his career, Gary has shown his work at the Heard Museum in Phoenix, one of the most respected institutions in the country for Native American and Indigenous art, and he has won numerous awards for his jewelry.
